About Dolcemia
We sell the dress
and the caveats.
Dolcemia is a small warm-weather womenswear label operated by DOLCEMIA CLOTHING LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We make 32 dresses and a handful of layers, and we publish more about each of them than we are asked to.

Why this exists
The company is registered in Jacksonville, which matters more than it sounds like it should. Florida runs eight months of genuinely hot weather and hosts an enormous number of outdoor weddings, and it is where you learn quickly that a dress can be beautiful in a photograph and completely wrong at four in the afternoon on a lawn.
The gap is almost never taste. It is that the photograph could not tell you four things: how much light passes through the cloth, whether there is a lining behind it, where the hem lands once you sit down, and what the fabric does when the air moves. Every one of those is measurable in an afternoon with a light meter, a tape and a fan. Almost nobody measures them.
So that is the shop. Same dresses everyone else sells, more or less. Four numbers nobody else prints.
What we will not say
We do not describe bodies. There is a whole standard vocabulary in this industry for doing that — words about concealing, elongating and improving a figure — and none of it appears anywhere on this site. A garment has measurements. What it does on a person is not our business to characterise.
That is not a statement of values you have to take on trust. It is a list of banned phrases checked against every product description, every finder result and every published review each time this site is built. One match and the build fails. The whole list, and the reasoning, is on the photography page.
The same rule kills the other convenient half-truths: that a fabric is completely opaque, that a hem will not lift, that linen does not crease, that a dry-clean-only dress is easy care, that anything is right for every occasion.
How we sell
Everything here is bought once and owned. There is no membership, no monthly plan, no rental, no stored balance and no loyalty scheme — nothing that renews and nothing to cancel. The catalogue runs from $45 to $429 USD.
The email list is free and optional, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works.
Where things are made
Our pieces are made in Portugal, India, Vietnam, China, Turkey, Indonesia, Peru, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and every product page names the country its piece comes from. We do not claim United States manufacture for anything in this catalogue, because none of it would meet the Federal Trade Commission’s standard for that claim, and a “Made in USA” line on a page is worth nothing if it is not true.
