Accessibility

Our target

DOLCEMIA CLOTHING LLC aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and to the accessibility expectations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We treat that as an ongoing obligation rather than a certificate: every change to the site is checked against it before it ships.

What is in place

• Contrast. Body text is a deep cocoa on a linen ground at roughly 15:1, well past the 4.5:1 Level AA requirement. Secondary text holds above 8:1. The primary action button sits above 7:1. Peach is used for decoration only — no body text on this site is set in a pale colour, because that is where a warm palette usually fails.
• Nothing is signalled by colour alone. Opacity grades, lining states and wind weights are always written out in words. A pill or a swatch never carries meaning on its own.
• Keyboard. Every control, filter, gallery tab and form field is reachable and operable by keyboard, in a logical order. Focus is always visible as a solid outline with an offset, never removed.
• A skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
• Structure. One h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer, and real <table> markup with scoped headers for every size table.
• Images. Every meaningful image has alternative text that describes what the photograph demonstrates, not just the garment name. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Forms. Every field has a visible, associated label. Errors are announced, described in words, and never conveyed by a red border alone.
• Motion. With prefers-reduced-motion: reduce set, the ambient background stops moving, the occasion marquee stops scrolling and becomes a scrollable list, and every fade and transition is switched off. Nothing on this site flashes, and nothing auto-plays with sound.
• Zoom and reflow. The layout reflows to a single column at 320 px and supports 200% zoom without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
• The frosted panels used in the header and on some cards have a solid-colour fallback where a browser does not support backdrop blur, so text on them never sits on an unpredictable background.

What we know is imperfect

Publishing a conformance claim without an exceptions list is not worth much. Ours:

• The measured size tables are wide. On a narrow screen they scroll horizontally inside their own container. The page itself never scrolls sideways, but a table that needs a swipe is more effort than it should be, and we are working on a stacked layout for small screens.
• The backlit and seated comparison photographs carry descriptive alternative text, but a photograph of translucency is a poor substitute for the information if you cannot see it. The opacity grade, the lining state and the seated measurement are all published as text for exactly this reason, and we would rather you relied on those.
• Colourway names describe a colour in words. If a colour decision matters and the names are not enough, email us and we will describe the shades against something you already know.

We acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and will tell you what we are doing about it and when, rather than closing the thread with an acknowledgement.

Ordering another way

If the checkout is not workable for you for any reason, call us and we will take the order over the phone, read you the measurements, the opacity grade, the lining state and the seated length for anything you are considering, and send a written confirmation before anything is charged. There is no surcharge for this and you do not have to explain why you would prefer it.
