What this fabric does

  • Gauze crinkles by design and does not press flat. That texture is the fabric, not a fault.
  • The weave opens slightly when wet. Coming out of the water in it is not what it is for.

Why it is made this way

Two layers of open-weave gauze, and nothing behind them. At 105 g/m² this is the piece we reach for when the forecast says 34°C, and it is also the piece we are most careful to describe accurately.

It is unlined. Held to a window it reads semi-sheer even doubled. Worn with a slip it behaves like any midi; worn without one, it does not.
