What this fabric does

  • Bias-cut cloth drapes onto whatever it touches. Seam lines under the dress will read through it.
  • The length relaxes roughly 2 cm across a full day of wear.
  • Dry flat. Hanging a wet bias dress pulls it long on one side.
Fabric and care in full

Why it is made this way

A bias cut follows the body because the grain runs at 45°, which is also why it grows about 2 cm in length over a full day of wear. We cut the sample to account for that; the number in the table is the relaxed length.

Unlined, but the cloth is heavy enough at 175 g/m² to read opaque on the rig. Bias fabric does cling where it touches, and it shows a bra line clearly.
