What this fabric does

  • The sleeves are single-layer chiffon and are see-through by design.
  • Pressing kills accordion pleats permanently. Hang it, do not iron it.
  • This piece is hand wash only. It is not a low-maintenance dress.

Why it is made this way

The body of this dress is fully lined. The sleeves are not, and we left them that way on purpose — the whole point of a chiffon sleeve is that light goes through it.

So the piece is graded semi-sheer overall even though the body reads opaque. We would rather report the sleeve honestly than average it away.

    The sleeves are properly sheer, which the page does say. On me the length ran shorter than the table suggested by maybe a centimetre — close enough. Hand wash only is a nuisance and I knew that going in.
